"In the Mood for Love" is, without any hesitation, my favourite film, the standard by which I measure all other films.
A classic soviet era film that won an Oscar for Best Foreign Film.
Kind and sympathetic Buzykin, in order not to offend anyone, he tries to help everyone. But the situations in which he gets into, become more complex, and most importantly - to such a large extent that Buzykin already feels like he is literally torn to pieces. His wife leaves him. The mistress leaves Boozykin. He decides to become a different person.

Based on the novel of the same name by F.M. Dostoevsky. The film is based on the first part of the novel "Nastasya Filippovna". 26-year-old Prince Lev Nikolaevich Myshkin returns from a sanatorium in Switzerland, where he spent several years, to Russia. He arrives at the house of the Epanchin relatives and meets an amazing woman, Nastasya Filippovna. The prince falls in love with her from the very first second, but this stunningly beautiful woman has such a complicated life... She is the mistress of one landowner, they want to marry her to another, but a third one loves her.
Comedy (1977). Anatoly Efremovich Novoseltsev is a common clerk, timid and shy. His friend Samokhvalov, a successful and opportunistic man, advises him to hit on his boss, Lyudmila Prokofyevna Kalugina, to get the job of a Department Head. However, this idea develops into something more...
An adventure story, or the biography of English as if it were a living being, covering the history of the language from its modest beginnings around 500 AD as a minor Germanic dialect to its rise as a truly established global language.
"Brief Encounter" (1945) is a British romantic drma directed by David Lean. It tells the story of two ordinary people who meet by chance at a train station and form a deep emotional connection. The film captures the beauty and sadness of human emotions. It's known for it gentle, realistic approach to romance and its subtle portrayal of inner conflict.
Temptation is a 1946 American film noir thriller film directed by Irving Pichel and starring Merle Oberon, George Brent, Charles Korvin and Paul Lukas. The film was based on Robert Smythe Hichens's 1909 novel Bella Donna. The 1923 film Bella Donna, starring Pola Negri, which was directed by George Fitzmaurice is also based on that novel. Other versions were filmed in 1915 and 1934.
Few films have touched me like this one. It's one of the greatest films every made. In this scene Toto's hero, Alfredo, tells him to leave their small town (in search of fortunes elsewhere) and to not be decieved by the nostalgia of his youth. "Whatever you do, love it. Forget us."
1942 film starring Katharine Hepburn & Spencer Tracy. It feels like the MAGA movement and Project 2025 took a page from this film's playbook. What we're witnessing today is practically on script.
The song 'Being Alive' is from the musical 'Company,' composed by Stephen Sondheim. It's a powerful ballad sung by the character Bobby. 'Company' premiered in 1970 and has since become a classic of American musical theater, known for its innovative storytelling and Sondheim's clever lyrics. I like this singer's cover.
Moira and Jocelyn stage a riveting version of Cabaret. Patrick and Stevie shine, and even Alexis gets her high kick moment.
Hilarious!
A play by Moss Hart and George Kaufman. Starring: Jason Robards, Elizabeth Wilson, Colleen Dewhurst and Maureen Anderman.
1987 CBS Hallmark Hall of Fame film starring Alan Bates, Ellen Burstyn and Terri Garr. This is one of my favourite espionage films. (Full version of film starts at 3:30. Unfortunately, it is not a very clear version, but it is worth viewing.)
Suspense-packed scene from one of my all-time favourite films with Alan Bates, Ellen Burstyn and Terri Garr.
Cary Grant and Eva Marie Saint star in Hitchcock's 1959 American spy thriller, "North by Northwest."
This is one of my favourite dance scenes in a film. 'The Intouchables' is a French dramatic comedy film released in 2011. The film is based on a true story. After he becomes a quadriplegic from a paragliding accident, an aristocrat hires a young man from the projects to be his caregiver.
